Volunteer Opportunities
We Need Your Help!
Everything we do is reliant on the volunteers who give their time. We have opportunities both big and small. Remember, if you aren’t able to sign up for a specific task, your voice is always welcomed at our monthly PTO meetings, held the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 6:30pm in the Library Media Center.
Everyone in our school community is automatically a member of the PTO, and we welcome your voice. There are many ways to volunteer. Please see current, upcoming and ongoing opportunites below.
Another way to look at specific roles we need filled can be found HERE. We have some vital roles vacant, and we rely entirely on volunteers! Please be in touch at prez@vanhisepto.org with questions.
Hedgestock 2025
We introduce you to HEDGESTOCK '25!
This school community event put on by our amazing specials teachers will feature live music performed by VHE students, a student art showcase, a makers market, a student talent show, bubbles, a book fair, an ice cream social and more!
We need your help with set-up, monitoring the book fair, clean-up and ice cream scooping. Please sign-up up below - we can't wait to see you there!
Volunteers must complete the MMSD steps to become an "Approved Volunteer" (see the MMSD volunteer page for information).
Email questions to prez@vanhisepto.org.
Playground and Lunch Volunteers (Ongoing)
The PTO helps out with extra eyes and hands on the playground during recess. Consider volunteering for a 30 minute time slot. Volunteers check in at the office and receive a vest before starting their shift.
Class Reps (Ongoing)
Are you looking for a way to help out our amazing VHE teachers and your child’s class? We need class reps to:
-
Help coordinate families for teacher/staff appreciation and other support activities (e.g. group gifts)
-
Help with parent communication (send occasional emails)
-
Facilitate social opportunities for students and classroom families
-
Attend PTO meetings and share important info with classroom families (as able)
Classroom reps are the glue that helps our classroom communities stick together. It’s a great way to get to know your teacher and the other families in the class. There is flexibility to do what works best for you and we give you support to make it easy and rewarding. Plus, it’s always more fun with a partner!
Estimated time commitment: 1-3 hours per month. Grandparents and other adult family members welcome! Email prez@vanhisepto.org with questions!
District Volunteer Online Training
Please note that ALL volunteers (inside and outside) are required to complete the Volunteer Training prior to any volunteer activities. The new training process involves 3 separate training modules that need to be completed. If your certification has expired, it is easy to submit a renewal form through this website as well.
