PTO 2021-22 Direct Appeal
Help us raise money to support Van Hise classrooms, teachers, & families!
Dear VHE Community,
The Van Hise Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a volunteer run, non-profit organization committed to enhancing and enriching the education of our children and fostering a sense of community within our school.
Each year the PTO makes a direct appeal to raise funds that support this mission.
In a typical year, PTO funds are also generated by events and programs such as the Winter Carnival and after school enrichment classes. Like last year, our opportunity to gather for in-person events and programs may again be limited due to the pandemic. This leaves our Annual Direct Appeal as the primary fundraiser for the school.
Despite these limitations, we are hopeful we can raise the funds necessary to cover our operating expenses. Last year contributions supported the following efforts:

Rental assistance and grocery store gift cards for families facing housing and food insecurity

Curriculum resources, hardware and classroom furniture to support virtual learning and concurrent teaching

Kinder Clubs to promote social and emotional learning skills

Classroom books that reflect a variety of students’ races, cultures, abilities & learning styles

Black Girl Magic Virtual Conference

Teacher Stipends
-
New garden beds
-
Staff appreciation activities
Show your Hedgehog Pride and make a contribution. No donation is too small: all donations, at all levels, are greatly appreciated! If you are in a position to give more, please consider donating for a family who cannot.
