Dear VHE Community,
The Van Hise Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a volunteer run, non-profit organization committed to enhancing and enriching the education of our children and fostering a sense of community within our school.
Each year the PTO makes a direct appeal to raise funds that support this mission.
In a typical year, PTO funds are also generated by events and programs such as the after school enrichment classes. As we emerge from the pandemic when many of these events were not possible, funds raised from this appeal will give us the opportunity to revive favorite events and a fresh start to introduce new ones.
Last year, the VHE community came together, and with your generous contributions we were able to support a wide range of efforts, including:

New books at each grade level ($200/classroom) that reflect the variety of our students’ races, cultures, abilities & learning styles

Black Girl Magic Conference

New recess equipment
-
Careful return of social events to build school community

Through our school social worker, direct support for VHE families in need

Teacher Grants, including a surprise spring trip for 4th/5th graders to the Overture

Teacher Stipends, newly expanded to support all staff in the building

Staff appreciation activities
Show your Hedgehog Pride and make a contribution. No donation is too small: all donations, at all levels, are greatly appreciated! If you are in a position to give more, please consider donating for a family who cannot. If you are unable to give this year, we hope you will join us in volunteering at events or in sharing your ideas for our community at our monthly meetings.
